    Project Location: Palajori block of Deoghar district
    • »  Forming and strengthening of 170 new SHGs and capacitate existing 160 self help collectives at village, clusters and block levels and enhance their capacity in institutional decision making and effective participation in local governance.
    • » Improved household food security of 4633 marginalized families of Palajori block through land and water centered activities by 2015.
    • »  Enhance sustainable income / Livelihood of 3000 households by 2015 which includes 2133 old families and new 700 families
    • »  Forming and strengthening of 170 new SHGs and capacitate existing 160 self help collectives at village, clusters and block levels and enhance their capacity in institutional decision making and effective participation in local governance.
    • » Improved household food security of 4633 marginalized families of Palajori block through land and water centered activities by 2015.
    • »  Enhance sustainable income / Livelihood of 3000 households by 2015 which includes 2133 old families and new 700 families

    • » 351 SHGs has been formed with total membership raised to 4648.
    • » Village Organization (VO) has been formed as per NRLM guideline. There was a target to open 44 VO out of which 43 VO has been achieved.
    • » Construction of Seepage well had been constructed with 100% successful results. With a participatory approach i.e. all members of SHGs to have water access/available in a cluster approach so that an irrigated belt is created for vegetable and crop production by taking second crop for increasing cropping intensity.
    • » Implementation of the improved technology in crop cultivation in Paddy and other crops.
    • » Implementation of Goatary among 700 families where the mortality rate is reduced from 40 % to 2 %.
    • » Government liasioning activities in respect to water resource development and livelihood development had been done.

    • » Drainage Line Treatment: Gabion Structure, Construction of New Concrete Nala Bund, Renovation of Earthen Check Dam (ECD), New Concrete Check Dam, Earthen Check Dam, Drum Check Dam and Loose Boulder Structure.

  • The main objectives of Integrated Watershed Management Projects are mentioned below:

    • » Encouraging restoration of ecological balance in the village through sustained community action for the development of natural resources including operation and maintenance of assets created.
    • » Improving the economic and social condition of the poor and the disadvantaged sections of the Watershed Community through optimum utilization of the watershed’s natural resources (like land, water, livestock, vegetation, etc) that will mitigate the adverse effects of drought and prevent further ecological degradation.
    • » Distribution of the benefits of land and water resources development and the consequent biomass production in an equitable and gender sensitive manner.
    • »  Enhancing and diversifying the

    • » Entry point activity Planning and Proposal development completed.
    • » Livelihoods options for poor through; facilitating employment opportunities and convergence of several programs at watershed level.
